Commitment to Achieving Benefits
Summary
The success of any initiative critically depends on the level of commitment from the key contributors and participants.
Commitment of the project participants
At the commencement of any program, the Sponsor, Benefit Owner and Program Manager need to articulate the benefits of the program to the project team and the project participants. This requires effective communication skills and methods. It is vital that the project team understands the final goals of the program and keeps the purpose of the program in mind at all times during program and project execution. This is particularly important as change requests are submitted and other impacts to the project occur. Sometimes the project can take an unexpected turn and no longer supports the intended benefits. Thus, the project team must always remain committed to the delivery of the benefits.
