Managing Change Requests

Summary

Change management is the practice of evaluating, controlling and approving important changes to the scope or direction made during a project, and ensuring that all project resources are aware of the changes that affect them. 

Planview Enterprise offers a change control feature within the tool to facilitate the gathering, approval and management of scope changes. Many companies have formal change control documents to gather additional information as well and these can be stored in the content management feature of Planview Enterprise.

This best practice describes the change request process in Planview, from entry through assessment and approval, and explains how changes relate to risks, issues, and baselines.
