Evaluate Resource Performance, Devise Professional Development Plan

Summary

Regularly scheduled employee reviews are a good practice in any organization. As are employee reviews at the end of each completed project.

Evaluate Resource Performance

There are a number of valid approaches for evaluating resource performance and end of project reviews. While each organization has its own style and approach, Planview recommends the following parameters as general guidelines seen in all good review processes.

Reviews should be conducted at the end of each major project and this feedback should be provided to resource managers to assist with yearly performance reviews.

Resources should fully understand what information they will be evaluated on at the end of a project as well as on their annual reviews.

Reviews should be scheduled in advance. This allows both the project or resource manager and the resource to effectively prepare for the process.

The resource should be an active participant in the process rather than a passive recipient of information from his/her manager.
