Develop an Effective Work Breakdown Structure

Summary

The work breakdown structure (WBS) establishes the hierarchy of logical steps required to manage and track the execution of the project deliverables. It represents the entire scope of the project, and is a precursor to refining the project schedule, in which task interdependencies, duration and effort, and resource assignments are added. This best practice outlines various WBS templates for different types of work, and offers guidelines about the proper level of detail that should be captured.
