Planview Enterprise One - PRM - Reporting and Schema Training

Course Description

As part of the extensive training offerings from Planview, we are pleased to offer a unique learning opportunity focused on using Microsoft® SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Report Builder with Planview Enterprise One - Portfolio and Resource Management data and report tiles.

A unique approach to learning, Planview’s Blended Training combines the benefits of working alongside a Planview-certified subject matter expert (SME) with the ease of web-based learning modules providing advanced users more targeted outcomes. Exclusive and focused, self-paced learning modules walk you through the core concepts and can be revisited as often as needed. In addition, a set number of hours are included for one-on-one mentoring with a Planview reporting expert. These coaching hours are used incrementally over a set period of time, allowing you the ability to hone and refine the specific skills required for successful report development.

Course Information

Audience: Report Designers, Query Designers, Database Administrators

Objectives:  

The Planview Enterprise One - Portfolio and Resource Management Reporting and Schema training will provide information and guidance to aid report designers and query designers to successfully create reporting content designed to be displayed on the report tiles within the Planview Enterprise One - Portfolio and Resource Management application. The content of this training is divided into two topics – report development and understanding of the database core tables and schema.

At the completion of the training, students will have a strong foundation of the core tables in Planview Enterprise One - Portfolio and Resource Management and will be able to create queries designed to be used in report development. This foundation will also further the students understanding of how to extract other types of relevant data.

From the report development perspective, students will be able to develop reports that will be displayed as report tiles and automatically filter the results based on the current entity or portfolio selected by the user. They will also learn tips and tricks on formatting, as well as design considerations.

As part of this Blended Training Package students may schedule up to 2 hours with an SME from our Global Reporting Services team for one-on-one coaching. These coaching sessions are delivered 30-minutes increments. Coaching hours are designed for assistance in report development after the student has successfully completed the web-based learning. They will be creating reports and queries in their own environment, at their own pace, alongside the reporting SME.

Get Ready

Before the class:

  • Have existing knowledge or experience in developing reports in SSRS Report Builder or another reporting tool. This course does not teach users how to use the Report Builder tool, it teaches how to apply Planview Enterprise One - Portfolio and Resource Management data to your reports so that it can run successfully in report tiles.
  • Students should have experience writing SQL statements in a relational database environment (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
  • Understanding of the type of information managed by Planview
