Planview and Six Sigma

Summary

This best practice explores Six Sigma as a philosophy, methodology, and toolset, and highlights how Planview Enterprise can best support the Six Sigma model.

What is Six Sigma?

Six Sigma, originated at Motorola and popularized by Jack Welch at GE, is a customer-focused quality movement that goes beyond simple process improvement and conformance, and seeks instead to strive for continuous improvement though achieving and maintaining a near-perfect defect rate. It also seeks to reduce operational costs by reducing defects, cycle time, and waste. Six Sigma is generally based on a defined project charter with an identified problem and quantified benefit/cost targets to achieve.
