Object and Action Types for Outcome or Product Lifecycle Models

 This article applies to Planview Enterprise 11.5 and greater.

The following table describes the various objects and actions the system supports during the creation of a new lifecycle step for an outcomes in Planview Enterprise 12 to 14 or a product in Planview Enterprise 11.5. In addition, the table lists the user-role features a user needs to complete such actions.

Associate a product to one or more projects.

Review (association to a project).

Approve (association to a project).

Configurable Screen

Enter/Edit - Opens the configured screen and prompts the user to complete the fields.

Permission identified on the screen definition as required for viewing or editing; if none defined, then all users.

Review - Opens the configured screen and prompts the user to review the screen.


Either permission marked on the screen definition is required for viewing or editing; if none was marked for viewing, then all users.

Approve - Opens the configured screen and prompts the user to approve the data entered in the fields.

Financial Plan

Enter/Edit - Create a financial plan; displays a list of versions of the selected financial plan. You can lock the selected version of the plan.

  • Planview Enterprise 12 to 14: Edit Outcomes Financial Plans.
  • Planview Enterprise 11.5: Edit Product Financial Plans.

(Planview Enterprise 14)

Copy - Creates a financial plan by copying another financial plan. You can select the version of the financial plan you are copying from and the version of the financial plan you are copying to. You can also lock or unlock the financial plan you are copying from.

  • Planview Enterprise 12 to 14: Edit Outcomes Financial Plans.
  • Planview Enterprise 11.5: Edit Product Financial Plans.

Review a financial plan.

  • Planview Enterprise 12 to 14: View Outcomes Financial Plans.
  • Planview Enterprise 11.5: View Product Financial Plans.

Approve a financial plan.

  • Planview Enterprise 12 to 14: View Outcomes Financial Plans.
  • Planview Enterprise 11.5: View Product Financial Plans.

Investment Analysis

Note: This object type is used for investment and capacity planning and investment analysis.

Include for Investment Approval.

Lifecycle Model Choice

Choose - Initiates a new lifecycle segment; presents a menu of lifecycle models for the user to select.

  • Planview Enterprise 12 to 14: Use Outcomes.
  • Planview Enterprise 11.5: Use Products.

Scripted Dialog

Execute - Directs the system to activate the specified script, causing other actions (as defined by the administrator of the script).

Required permission as defined for the particular dialog.

Review - Prompts a user to review the answers provided in a script (if end user responses were required).

All users.

Approve - Prompts a user to approve the outcome of the dialog actions.

All users.

Status Change

Set/Propose (a status change).

  • Planview Enterprise 12 to 14: Use Outcomes.
  • Planview Enterprise 11.5: Use Products.

Accept.

  • Planview Enterprise 12 to 14: Use Outcomes.
  • Planview Enterprise 11.5: Use Products.

Wait for a proposed status change.
