Portlet reports, when using Chrome generate error (2014 SP2)

SYMPTOMS:

For portlet reports, when using Chrome and double clicking on a field to open it, a message is generated:

 

ERROR/WARNING MESSAGES:

The profile link you are trying to view is not supported by our current browser.

 

REASON:

Report Designer is certified on the Microsoft Windows O/S and IE only as per the 2014 SP2 compatibility matrix


RESOLUTION:

Use an IE browser instead.
