How to configure time entry restrictions?

Time entry restrictions are a new feature that is available in Changepoint 2017 SP1 (GP 18.01.091.000) and Changepoint 2017 SP2 (GP 18.02.086.000).

Once the option is enabled at the system level (Changepoint Administration > Time and Expenses > Time Control),  there are 6 settings available for the project manager or project plan editor:

On projects
(1) Enable restrictions based on project data
(2) Enable restrictions based on task data
(3) Enable restrictions based on task assignment data

On tasks
(4) Enable restrictions based on task data
(5) Enable restrictions based on task assignment data

On task assignments
(6) Enable restrictions based on task assignment data

When enabled, only (1), (4) and (6) automatically enforce the restrictions for both new and existing task assignments in the time sheet:
(1) ensures that all time entries for all assignments within the project are within the range of the planned dates or effort of the project
(4) ensures that all time entries for all assignments within the task are within the range of the planned dates or effort of the task
(6) ensures that all time entries the assignment are within the range of the planned dates or effort of the assignment

(2), (3), and (5) are default values that are inherited only by new tasks or task assignments that are created after the option is enabled.

Note: The settings for (2), (3), and (5) are not applied automatically to projects, tasks or task assignments that exist when the time entry restrictions are enabled, and must be configured manually.
To apply the restrictions to multiple tasks or task assignments, you can copy the values in rows in the project planning worksheet (PPW).
