Performance impact of sending 10000 surveys (2010, 2010 SP1,SP2,SP3)

Question:
We are planning to create a survey which will be sent to around 10000 recipients. Would this survey have any performance impact?
 

Answer:
There is no hard coded limit on the number of recipients, though other limits may be imposed by the environment, such as the network or hardware capacity. However, please note that the survey module is not designed for such a scale. We recommend creating surveys with no more than 1000-1500 recipients. We also recommend testing this scenario in a Test/Development environment before trying it in production, and reduce the number of recipients if required.
