Create Opportunity - "Type" Field empty (2012 SP1)

SYMPTOMS:
When creating a new opportunity, the field “Type” has no values in the drop-down list. However, when looking at an existing opportunity, you can see what the values should have been. In System Manager, this “Type” field has no values. There are 69 records available in the database.

REASON:
Defect.
When loading the new opportunity window, Changepoint populates the ‘type’ field based on the Sales Rep's GlobalWorkgroupId and WorkgroupId which are nullIDs.
Customer did not have any ‘type’ set up at the System level, therefore no options were loaded



RESOLUTION:
Customer added the values in system manager at the system level
