Cannot cross charge/invoice time when cross charge/billing rate is 0

When a resource's billing rate/cross charge rate is 0 in user setup, the following message may appear:

Some support time records cannot be selected because no billing rates have been defined for the ÿxÿ and ÿyÿ or no exchange rate has been defined for the billing rate currency. To invoice these time records, the billing rates must be defined and exchange rates must be updated for different billing rate currency.

Some support time records cannot be selected because no cross charge rates have been defined for the Initiative and Resource or no exchange rate has been defined for the cross charge rate currency. To cross charge these time records, the cross charge rates must be defined and exchange rates must be updated for different cross charge currency.

Workaround

If the message appears, you can invoice/cross charge using a rate of 0 by adding the resource with a 0 negotiated rate to the Billing rates/Cross charge rates tab on the engagement/initiative.
