Importing Data

Certain search screens for Business Entities have an Import Data action. This is used to import and load data from a spreadsheet format file. These files are defined through the Creating Data Templates.

Processing is the same for each type of business entity. However, if project workflows are enabled, different input is required for projects.

Click Choose File to find the file to import. This must be an Excel format file containing a data template worksheet and will have been created as a template file.

Under Import Operation, choose:

• Insert records as new to only create data. Any record on the spreadsheet file will only be imported if there is no current record with the same key
• Update existing to update current records only. This will ignore any spreadsheet records that have no corresponding entry on the product.

Click Upload to import the spreadsheet file and update the existing data.
